Terms of use

Effective 12 October 2026

In short: Libut Café is a free guide. Use it kindly, check important details with the café, and keep wall notes about the café, not about people. We remove notes that break the rules.

The agreement

These terms are between you and Raiyan Asaral, who makes Libut Café (“Libut Café”, “we”). By using the Libut Café app or this website you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.

If you got the app from Apple’s App Store, Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. These terms add to it; they’re between you and us, not Apple, and Apple isn’t responsible for the app or its content. If you got it from Google Play, Google Play’s terms also apply to the download.

How we handle your data is in the privacy policy.

What Libut Café is, and isn’t

Libut Café is a guide to cafés in Zamboanga City. It’s free, with no ads and no in-app purchases.

  • Details change. Hours, menus, prices and contact details are as of the date shown, and cafés change them without telling us. If something matters, such as an opening time before a long trip, check with the café.
  • Halal. Libut Café shows halal status only as it was recorded: certified (with the certifier), no pork served, or Muslim-owned. Anything else says “Not verified”. If it matters to you, confirm with the café.
  • Ratings on a café are Libut Café’s own opinion from a visit.
  • Sponsored. Anything paid for is labelled Sponsored and never changes the order of lists, search, the map or filters.
  • Cafés aren’t us. Cafés are independent businesses. Libut Café doesn’t sell their food or drinks and isn’t responsible for them.

Using the app

You may use Libut Café for your own, personal use. Please don’t:

  • copy or scrape the café data, photos or menus in bulk, or reuse them elsewhere;
  • overload, attack or try to get around the app’s limits or security;
  • send fake reports, closure reports or claims, or claim a café that isn’t yours;
  • use the app to break the law or to harass anyone.

Freedom wall rules

Each café has a wall where people who are there can leave a short note. Notes are public and anonymous unless you add a name. There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Keep notes:

  • about the café: the coffee, the seat by the window, the Wi-Fi;
  • kind: no insults, slurs, threats, harassment or hate;
  • true: no made-up claims about a café or its people;
  • free of people’s details: no names of other people, phone numbers, addresses, emails, social handles or links;
  • clean: nothing sexual, violent or illegal, and no ads or spam.

How it’s kept that way:

  • Notes are checked automatically against a word list; some wait for us to look before they show.
  • Anyone can report a note or hide it on their own phone. A note reported three times is hidden until we’ve checked it.
  • We remove notes that break these rules, and we can remove any note for any reason. A café’s verified owner can ask us to hide notes on their wall; we decide.

You’re responsible for what you post. You keep any rights you have in your note, and you let Libut Café show it in the app, free and for as long as it stays up. Ask us and we’ll take your note down (see Delete your data).

Reports and claims

Suggestions, corrections and claims help keep listings right. We read them all, but we decide what changes. A claim counts only after we’ve contacted you and checked the café is yours. An owner’s changes are labelled “Updated by owner”, and changes to a café’s name, location or contact details need our approval.

Café photos and content

Before a visit, a café’s photos come from its own public pages or, where it has none that work, from customers’ public posts about the café, a chain’s brand image or the café’s logo. Each is credited on the café’s page and belongs to whoever posted it. If one is yours, or you run the café, and you want it taken down, email us and we’ll remove it within days. Menus come from the café’s own posted menu and are dated. The Libut Café name, logo and app are ours; please don’t use them in a way that suggests we endorse something we don’t.

Postcards you make are yours to share. If you add your own photo, make sure you’re allowed to share it, especially if there are people in it.

Caffeine diary

The caffeine diary gives estimates from typical drinks and sizes. It’s not a measurement and not medical advice. If you’re unsure what’s right for you, ask a doctor.

Other services

The map is provided by Mapbox (© Mapbox © OpenStreetMap). Directions open in Google Maps, Waze or Apple Maps. Those services have their own terms, and we’re not responsible for them.

No guarantees

Libut Café is provided as it is and as available, without guarantees that it’s accurate, complete or always working. As far as the law allows, we’re not liable for losses from using it or relying on it, such as a trip to a café that turned out to be closed. Nothing here limits rights you have under Philippine consumer law that can’t be limited.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms; when we do, the date above changes. We may also change or stop the app. These terms are governed by the laws of the Philippines.
